KWP 1281 was the normal VAG communication protocol, KWP 2000 a later version. Actual control units use UDS/ODX an CAN bus. The HEX-NET (generation 2) is prepared for DoIP. VCDS stands for Vag-Com Diagnostic System. Since VCDS version 21.09 also ARM (ARM64) systems are supported. Last update: 15.10.2025
