As of January 1, 2023, every VCDS interface with Unlimited-FIN (HEX-V2 and HEX-NET) includes a free 1-year SFD subscription.
SFD ("Schutz der Fahrzeugdiagose", protection of vehicle diagnostics) is the new security standard of the VW Group for newer vehicles – e.g., Golf 8, ID. models and other MQB-evo platforms. There, many control unit functions (diagnostics, coding, adaptations) are locked without SFD activation.
With the included SFD subscription, you benefit from:
- Full diagnostic functionality even on SFD-protected control units
- Coding and adaptations possible as usual
- Automatic, temporary activation tokens directly via VCDS
- No surcharge – 12 months included from purchase
Requirements: valid unlimited interface (HEX-V2 or HEX-NET) and internet connection of the diagnostic computer during the SFD activations. Valid identification document (ID card, national identity card, passport) of the person to whom the interface is registered at Ross-Tech (EU requirement).
Procedure: After purchasing the SFD subscription via the customer account, complete the SFD registration.
After the 12 months expire, the SFD subscription can be renewed for a fee. |
